Lucky Riot And The Mystic Dragon

Chapter 67 - You damn crazy brat!

"Hmph. Warriors at the ninth level of the Hard Body Stage are only worth this much, I guess…" Lucky Riot had decided to never feel sympathy for an enemy. These guys kept trying to murder him? Well f.u.c.k it then, he would kill them instead! Lucky's eyes flashed with a crazed light, but he hesitated a step.

There was still one more thug screaming in agony and terror, with half of his lower body blown away.

Twenty-five meters away, Sancho Baldez lay in a pool of his own blood and shattered teeth.

However, to Lucky's extended shock, there was still a feeble breath of life left in this madman. Lucky was impressed by Sancho's endurance, yet a little bit disgusted by the current image of the man. He looked pathetic. At this moment, the young hero, Lucky, felt torn. Kill or don't kill? Sancho was bound to die either way. However, wouldn't killing him end his current misery? Lucky seemed to come to a decision before long, as he robbed the dead thug of his belongings - another mystic sword, and 1,200 silver Plutonian coins.

This was enough wealth to buy around 600 chili dogs! After confirming this, Lucky Riot urged his mystic qi and quickly sped away at full throttle. He left a huge dust cloud and essence light after-images created by his rapid but subtle and instantaneous movements. The after-images stacked together and made it look like a colossal serpent made of mystic light until the light dissipated.

These little movements were the core principals of the Divine Serpent Surfing the Skies movement art! Lucky had come to realize that these exaggerated after-images he left behind could be used to make his opponents believe he was capable of moving a lot faster than he actually could. The opponent would never know Lucky's exact speed unless their speed far exceeded his own.

Lucky already detected some people approaching awhile ago, so he didn't have the luxury of more time. The qi waves from the battle likely attracted some experts. No matter who was coming, seeing Lucky there after having just murdered three men would definitely not be a great idea. Although Lucky wasn't very content with leaving Sancho and the first thug alive, Lucky didn't want to risk being ambushed again. Anyway, he didn't believe his final kick was light! He had to make it to the Thoth Academy group, or he was in danger!

"I'm glad I didn't listen to Scarlet this time. So much fun I would've missed…" mused Lucky Riot. If anyone knew what he thought, they might actually pass out. Assassination attempts could be considered fun now?

Not five minutes after Lucky Riot sped away, a team of a dozen or so men in black robes very swiftly reached the previous battle's site.

"What happened here?" asked the bald-headed leader of this group, as he approached the thug who had a leg blasted away. This thug was doing his best to manage his injuries, using qi to staunch the wound.

"Scram, f.u.c.ker!" screamed the thug indignantly. He may have been gravely wounded, but he had been brainwashed for years to die before revealing any information. The consequence of snitching could only be a torturous death! Such was the way of gangsters, it was the code.

If there were no benefits to be had, no loyal gang member would run their mouth to a stranger just to save his own life! Although they had already been expunged from the Silver Mercury Gang, this thug was still loyal to Sancho and even the deceased Evan. The thug didn't recognize this group at all. Hence, he would never reveal anything to them.

"Hmph, foolish waste," powerful mystic essence force burst from that expert's body as he slammed his boot down onto the thug's skull, reducing it to paste.

"There's a good seedling over there… Last time we saw them, he seemed to be the leader of this lot. Must have found who they were hunting for," said a shirtless man covered in piercings and tribal tattoos.

"Looks more like he found them," replied the first man as he wiped his boots dramatically.

"That guy seemed to be headed to the border… must be a student?" said another black-robed man.

"Heh, if that's the case, then let's give that wretch over there a shot at revenge," sneered the first man, "Go see if he knows how to appreciate this favor, becoming a vine in the Forest of Woe."

"State your name, student."

"Lucky Riot."

"Wait here for a moment…"

"Noble student Riot, the Lord Dean is coming to receive you. You may enter."

Twenty-five minutes after running away from the previous ordeal, Lucky Riot was casually walking through a heavily guarded fortress. This fortress was massive. The walls were made of refined origin ores forming a robust and high powered metal. Hieroglyphs were inscribed into the walls in various places, making them glow with a mysterious light. This glow in the dark fortress was situated at the southern border of Disaster County. The only other gate out of the barrier was at the northern border, but that place was a forbidden grounds. Throughout his youth, Lucky had heard rumors of government experimentation taking place in the north.

Now that Lucky knew some of the secrets of this county, he was disinclined to believe this. However, he figured he would learn the truth in due time.

There were dozens of teams of military personnel training and performing various tasks around the fortress. These men all wore dark green armor that represented the coalition of warriors trained by the Twelve Judgement Stars to defend this Disaster County, the county in which Nibiru City was situated. Other than them, there was also the Disaster Army Corporation. These were said to be the most elite soldiers in the entire county.

The infantry soldiers wore standard Disaster Military armor, Profound Stage black and gold armor of varied sizes. All the core officers instead wore a camouflage-style Mystic Stage light armor. This wondrous armor was able to literally blend in with the environment around it to some extent. Lucky's psyche picked up light magic elements in the air, which means these armors were using light magic. It even masked their scent totally. In Lucky's normal vision, it seemed like the space around him was subtlety shifting around constantly. If he wasn't paying attention, he might not have noticed. In fact, the student that came through the gate right before Lucky seemed utterly unaware of the soldiers walking two steps behind him. It was likely that if the core officers all stood still, Lucky simply wouldn't see them at all. Such equipment was terrifying.

Of course, with Lucky's perceptive force spread out wide, the spiritual signatures of these men and women were all obvious to him. Lucky suddenly realized that mystic spiritualists were truly terrifying existences among experts! Even advanced tactics that would leave the typical warrior disadvantaged were simply petty tricks to a spiritualist, it couldn't fool him at all. With spirit power, it was much easier to see through illusions!

Lucky suddenly felt enlightened.

"You damn crazy brat, you still have the nerve to smile after coming out here all alone? I could strangle you!" a voice suddenly boomed in Lucky's direction, causing him and many soldiers and student disciples in the area to panic inwardly. Meanwhile, his face was outwardly stoic and otherwise unaffected. It was as if he never even heard a shout.

Lucky turned and performed the junior's salute, before replying respectfully, "Greetings Dean! Student Lucky Riot, reporting in."

Fierce Storm descended directly in front of Lucky Riot with a boom. He didn't mince words. Fierce Storm immediately lifted Lucky up by his collar and pulled the young man close to his middle-aged angular face. He glared blades into Lucky, who actually felt a trace of fear. The only thing that showed it was his eyes. The latter had never realized that this man was still so huge, in spite of his own height increasing.

'This shouldn't be right, should it?' thought Lucky after considering for a moment. 'Before, when Dean Fierce Storm was on the platform at the school, he didn't seem so massive. Could this be a part of his power?'

Merely, Lucky didn't dare to probe this barbarian with his spirit power. To do so was unintelligent, for that would get him a beating.

"Do you have any idea how what your professor would have done to me if anything happened to you? Are you foolish? Do you want to fight me or something?" Fierce Storm gnashed his teeth in anger. This kid had stressed him out entirely for the last hour or so!

Scarlet Mercury reported to Magus Hemingway that they would need to be prepared to receive her student, Lucky Riot. When Fierce Storm received this report, he was immediately seized with panic. Fierce Storm directly sent a team of experts out to search for this dumb brat. Did he think this world was so damn tender? This was the price of not explaining to the boy who he and what he really was.

If the Guru discovered that something happened to Lucky under his watch…

Fierce Storm simply didn't want to consider it.
