Lucky Riot And The Mystic Dragon

Chapter 68 - What am I thinking?

After the initial sightings, Fierce Storm soon received reports of a mysterious serpent surrounded by mystic light being sighted in the inner and outer sectors by several different parties. Not long after that, they heard stories of an unidentified rogue warrior battle happening a few miles outside of the city. The guards told Fierce that the power levels were reported to be at the peak of prism rank one. Fierce Storm couldn't help but be shocked. Four dead bodies were found along the path leading directly to the border, and a battle had clearly taken place.

Luckily, this brat wasn't the only person who had been received recently. In fact, he wasn't even the only student to have shown up in the last ten minutes. The disciples of the prominent families who qualified for the trial had yet to arrive. Some were here for their own purposes. Kasino was tall, handsome, and looked like a capable athlete. It could still be considered inconspicuous for him to arrive alone.

That's why Fierce Storm didn't mind making a scene, even though so many people were around. Many of these people were already tuned in to this new commotion. After all, military life was often boring enough to cry about.

"Listen, kid, you have to learn how to be more relaxed. Do you know? Low profile. Stay cautious. Do not be so reckless in the future, or you will surely invite endless calamities to yourself and those around you!" Fierce Storm was mainly speaking for himself when he said 'those around you,' for the Guru would surely punish him for this.

In fact, he only escaped his previous punishment early due to this trial's importance. The importance which was based on Kasino alone in the Guru's heart. Of course, this was on top of the Guru's unwillingness to see Hur Frenzy and Frederick Graham. Afterward, it was back to that dreadful pressure once more. Once the Guru learned about today's events…

Fierce Storm had a headache just thinking about it.

"Eh?" Lucky Riot was genuinely speechless for a second. His fear subsided completely after he remembered a crucial point. He grew irritated, and his deep voice boomed through the air in a disgruntled manner, "So people try to kill me over and over again, and yet, according to you, I'm the one at fault? Should I tuck my tail and hide behind a wall for the rest of my life? Should I follow behind my professor every time I want to leave the campus? Am I a turtle? NO, I am a dragon ascending the waterfall and preparing to soar into the heavens. So what if they want me dead? I'm not afraid of them!"

This impassioned speech drew gasps of admiration from the people nearby.

Fierce Storm was dumbstruck, as this brat's spittle painted his face. However, the boy's words had a certain charisma and truth he couldn't ignore. He dropped or instead threw Lucky away. Lucky landed abruptly on his bum with a 'hey!'.

Fierce Storm never expected this brat to give him a very accurate rebuttal. Though he felt dissatisfied, he had to admit there was logic in the youth's words. Fierce Storm composed himself and spoke seriously, "You are not wrong to feel this way. However, if you do not practice more caution, then you will die. Even if you do not die, your friends will be harmed and may die. This is all because you were too dumb and too reckless. Do not say I have not warned you."

"I will not die, they will die!" said Lucky Riot angrily as he rubbed his sore b.u.t.t. He felt completely indignant. He was extremely tired of being bullied!

'Who cares if I'm weak, I will never back down from those who wanted me dead. I will press forward until I blow them all away with overwhelming might! My friends will just have to do the same. This is the consequence of befriending the one destined to be the greatest.'

However, Fierce Storm's words about his friends had actually touched Lucky's heart. After all, he only ended up in the alleyway that led them to Amenophis because he was running from Bravo and company after implicating the then weak Capp. Thus, he knew the Dean was correct, and he would have to practice more caution.

As Fierce Storm saw the brewing madness in this youth's eyes, he quietly sighed. It seemed the Guru was right, and this brat indeed could not be contained quickly. Fierce decided could only help him grow stronger as efficiently as possible, 'It seems Disaster County will finally enter a new era thanks to this brat…'

Magus Fierce Storm suddenly found himself a little excited, in spite of his worries.

"All right, calm down. We can discuss this later. For now, you must shift your focus to the trial. With such powerful psychic energy, you should understand how big of an opportunity this is for you," Fierce Storm said sagely. The way he spoke to Lucky had suddenly become a lot more polite.

Noticing this, Lucky also stopped his obstinate behavior, "Are we leaving soon?"

"If not for some reckless idiot, I would have already taken the first group over. The other Principals and Patriarchs are feeling anxious and have been annoying me greatly, you know." Fierce Storm was visibly exasperated as he said this. However, Lucky was distracted by his words.

"Other Principals?" Lucky Riot didn't understand the implication of this.

"Yes, the Guru has left me in charge of these proceedings," replied Fierce Storm as if it was common knowledge. "So now it falls on my shoulders to deal with those old jerks. Frederick Graham, current patriarch of the Graham Family. Hur Frenzy, the current patriarch of Nibiru City's Frenzy Family. Musiah Heru. Grand Elder of the Divine Sun Clan and principal of Sun Academy," grumbled Fierce Storm. However, upon noticing the confused expression on the boy's face, he came to a realization, "Could it be that your professor did not teach you this? Well, knowing her, I suppose not."

"Yeah, I didn't know," replied Lucky Riot, inwardly shocked and nervous. He had instantly become this way the moment he heard the name Hur Frenzy!! Wasn't that the name of Maggie's father?! Weren't they fey? Some type of feline bloodline. "Good thing, Grandmaster Amen sealed Maggie's primordial yin essence. Otherwise, I would definitely die today."

"What was that?" Fierce Storm looked back at Lucky.

"Nothing," Lucky shook his head in deep thought.

"As you know, before participating in the Spiritual Trial in the Tower of Woe, you have to pass the Rank 1 Mystic Beast Trial. There are far more people who participate in this mystic beast trial than the spiritual trial, as the criteria aren't quite so strict. Thus, other academies and major families of Nibiru City are all invited to the trials as well. Even once we reach the Tower of Woe, it is not just our school who will participate. We have extended the invitation to all the geniuses of Nibiru City who possess spirit power."

"Oh yeah? Why wouldn't Thoth Academy want to keep such a trial for ourselves?" Lucky Riot was rather curious about this, as he felt most places would definitely not be so generous for no reason.

"It's true. We would have every right to do so if we chose to host it exclusively. We simply have no reason to do so," Magus Fierce Storm looked at Lucky profoundly before continuing, "The strength of the entire County must reach a certain level, or there will be a catastrophe. You will understand this more clearly once you become strong."

"Mn." Lucky nodded indifferently. Without strength, what could he do even if he knew? These were matters of the strong.

As Lucky spoke with the Dean, they both arrived at the location of the Sky Bus. This also happened to be the border gate at the County Wall. Brenda Hemingway sighed in relief when she saw Lucky walking over with Magus Fierce Storm, but quickly berated him, "You bad boy, do you know how worried my senior sister would have been if you got hurt? She would have killed me! Why are you so selfish?"

"You look incredible today, honored magus Hemingway. Is that a new hair-do?" asked Lucky Riot casually in response to his teacher's chiding. He wasn't just fresh, he truly meant it! Brenda Hemingway was indeed a feast for the eyes today. Her clothes were s.e.xy, they flowed and were transparent in many places. It basically forced the imagination to run wild! An evil fire was threatening to ignite itself in Lucky, but he quickly looked away and composed himself. He calmly observed the gateway with indifference.

Brenda Hemingway saw that hint of l.u.s.t in her student's eyes and was temporarily infuriated. How dare this brat d.e.s.i.r.e her flesh, he was asking for a beating! However, she was also flattered that he noticed her new hairstyle, as Lucky was this first male to compliment this so far. While thinking like this, she subconsciously glanced down and saw a long snake crawling in the youth's clothes. Remembering the exposed muscular body of this well-endowed young man on the day they met, she suddenly felt hot as her face went blank.

'What am I thinking?'
