With a frightened look on the little girl’s face, she whispered, “I will be bullied.”

Su Jiaojiao took a serious look at her. The last time they met, she didn’t see her face clearly, but recognized the girl by her hair and face.

Song Qinghan inquired about the two a few days ago. The kid’s name was Ji Xuan, and she’s sixteen years old; her grandfather was Ji Zhengfeng, a former university professor. He taught History, but also liked to paint. His drawings were very famous, and he was once sought-after by many.

Su Jiaojiao had never cared about other things in the village before, since she always felt that she would leave in the future.

But after learning about them, Su Jiaojiao didn’t regret helping these people in the slightest.

If such a person left the world like that, it would be a considerable loss.

They had suffered for many years, so Su Jiaojiao wanted to help them. Since the money she borrowed to them should be enough, she didn’t think about it any further. Now they met again…

Ji Xuan’s exquisite facial features couldn’t be concealed even if she dirtied herself. The child was a little malnourished, so she wasn’t as beautiful as she should be, but the facial structure was good, and her skin was white. If she cared for herself a bit more, she would look stunning.

If she cleaned herself up, she could be called a little beauty.

There is never a shortage of disgusting and wretched men in this world. [1] Even though delinquents were treated harshly during this era, many people still can’t control their b̲e̲s̲t̲i̲a̲l̲i̲t̲y̲.

Ji Xuan curved her lips upwards and said shyly, “Sister…”

Su Jiaojiao glanced at her and smiled, “You get on the bike and sit in the back. I’ll take you to town.”

Ji Xuan nodded happily. “Thank you, sister.”

She climbed into the car. Her beautiful peach eyes were serious as she carefully guarded the basket behind her. But she didn’t want to touch other parts of the bike either, in fear of getting them dirty. Her two legs raised up as she showed her battered straw sandals.

Looking at the limbs, they are still quite slender.

She was sixteen years old and looks really fragile, but she’s already as tall as Su Jiaojiao.

Su Jiaojiao looked at Ji Xuan’s eyebrows, got on the bike and started riding.

Riding the bike while transporting another person was a bit tiring, but it was doable. She rode at a slow speed. As there is no one around, she asked softly, “What if you changed your outfit?”

Ji Xuan has a bit of heroism in her eyebrows. They resembled something a pretty boy would’ve had in the 2010s. If she cut her hair short and went out, she wouldn’t be treated as poorly.

In the 70s, girls would always be in more danger than boys when going out. Even if there was a prettier boy, most people wouldn’t think much about it. Of course, some perverted paedophiles out there don’t care about that, but those are vastly fewer in number. Girls are different. If one was r̲a̲p̲e̲d̲, she wouldn’t a future anymore.

But when she was thinking about that, the matchmaker alerted her with a mission: [Ding! Task 17 has been triggered. Host, your husband has not cut his hair for nearly four months. Please cut your husband’s hair. Reward: a premium shampoo and conditioner (tempting aroma included), seven body reinforcement pills.] [1]

Su Jiaojiao’s eyelids twitched, but after seeing the task content, she breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, this task is simple and wasn’t as shameless as the last task. The task rewards were generous as well. She could give the pills to her brothers, their wifes, and her nephews.

Ji Xuan, who was sitting in the back seat, did not notice Su Jiaojiao’s abnormality and had a joyful smile on her face. She trusted Su Jiaojiao very much. Ten dollars wasn’t a sum people would casually take out, and Su Jiaojiao was also female. So when Su Jiaojiao asked her a question, she immediately replied, “What kind of clothing?”

“Male clothing. Cut your hair short, like a boy.” Su Jiaojiao smiled, “Your features are pretty, and you can’t conceal them even if you tried. It’s better to become a boy with a little soiled face. Even if others think you look good, they won’t overthink.”

Su Jiaojiao had only said this casually, but Ji Xiao nodded her head feverently. Afraid Su Jiaojiao hadn’t noticed, she hurriedly followed up saying, “You’re right! Then, I’ll go back home and cut my hair!”

Armos D. Platypus: The author is trying his best (insert positivity joke here), but I swear he/she should learn proper formatting. Even I know not to insert a task when people are having meaningful dialogue.

[1] They could’ve had dialogue here that didn’t suck. Alas…
