The head guard dashed into the security room after he received a vague signal from his men on the bas.e.m.e.nt level.

Head Guard: "Pull up the footage in front of the lift to the secret room. Rewind the timeline to the previous 3 minutes. "

His subordinate who was at the screen panel quickly shifted the multiple screens in the security room into single large footage. It was in black and white and there was a time stamp at the below of the footage.

The head guard carefully observed the movements in the recorded video but there were no suspicious figures loitering in front of the lift. Could be another intruders try to break into the vault room? But there was no sight of them captured unless they had invisible power or invisible cloak like Harry Potter.

Head Guard: "Replay again!"

This time, he focused on the time stamp and 5 seconds later, his eyes became wide opened to see the frozen time lapse. Darn! Their CCTV had been hacked by an unknown party and that was why no figures were caught in the video.

Head Guard: "Quick! Call up the guards on duty at the bas.e.m.e.nt level. Close all entrance in this building and block the exit!"

Another guard nearby the panel carried their superior's order and immediately reported back to the head guard a few seconds later.

Guard 2: "Sir, the line is busy!"

The head guard released a long sigh and shook his head a few times. He straightened his back and moved his eyes to each of his subordinates who were stationed in the security room.

Head Guard: "YOU...YOU...YOU AND YOU! Follow me to the bas.e.m.e.nt. You! Stay back and monitor all the CCTV and call back up if there's anyone breaking into this room. Focus your attention to areas around the ground level lift."

The head guard brought another 4 guards with him to check on the current situation in the bas.e.m.e.nt. Since the existence of the secret room was highly classified, there was no CCTV in that room so they couldn't monitor the movements inside it from the security room. Five of them made their way to the exclusive lift that went down to the bas.e.m.e.nt level where the secret laboratory was located.

Guard 2: "Boss, the access to the lift had been cut off..."

WHAT? CUT OFF?

Head Guard: "Contact the security room. Initiate the emergency access. Hurry up!"

Once the access was activated, they rushed into the lift and swarmed the hallway to the laboratory once the lift door opened at the bas.e.m.e.nt level. However, all of them were in shock to see the on-duty guards were lying on the floor unconsciously and the door was left ajar. Everyone froze as they couldn't comprehend the current situation. Previously, many unknown parties had tried to trespass that hidden place but none of them could pass the lift to the bas.e.m.e.nt. The furthest they could have reached was the security checkpoint. The guards on duty at the bas.e.m.e.nt level were highly trained and had a bulky physique. Was there anyone could surpass these A-lister bodyguards? The guards had specifically undergone military training hence shouldn't be easily defeated.

Head Guard: "Let everyone know, 1-year bonus for anyone who manages to catch the intruders."

All the guards were burning excitedly as they heard the rewards and they were ready to ambush the room when He Shan briskly disconnected his disk from the computer. He bolted to one of the tables and hid his presence under it while securing the hard disk into the harness around his fit waist. He held his breaths as long as he could to avoid the incoming opponent heard his breathing.

The four guards scattered searching for the intruder while the head guard strode to the corner of the room where the computer was located. He stared at the computer's black screen and when he moved closer to the designated table, he could hear the faint sound of the motherboard running. There was no light on the CPU but it gave off heat as if the computer already warmed up for a while. It was either the intruders just switched on the main power on the computer or the windows had just been shut down.

Looking at these possibilities, the head guard felt uneasy tingling sensation warmed his stomach. If the intruder managed to hack the computer, ultimately the digital files had been stolen. This could really cost him his life as his head would be chopped off if his employer found out that the intruders managed to get the confidential info stored in the system.

Guard 3: "Sir, we believe the intruders are already escaped from this room. There are no traces of them here. The substances remain intact with no sign of them touching them."

Head Guard: "Humm... Help other team searching the whole building. Make sure we at least find a lead to those intruders. Our lives are really on the line right now. Go!" A flash of worried clearly shown on their superior's face when they reported their searching. Four of them nodded their head and then walked out from the room after received next order from their superior.

The head guard pulled his phone from his pocket and redialed the last incoming call from his call list.

Head Guard: "Sir, they have fled from the secret room. No sign of them rummaging the files on the shelves, however, there is a high possibility of them got their hands on the data in the computer. I'll call up our IT team to run a quick check on the system to identify which files were stolen."

"STUPID!! HOW COME THIS SINGLE TASK YOU CAN'T PROPERLY HANDLE IT??? EITHER YOUR HEAD OR THEIR HEADS AT MY OFFICE WITHIN ONE HOUR!!! BY HOOK OR BY CROOK, I WANT THEIR IDENTITIES OR I'LL SEND YOU BACK TO THE PRISON!"
