The head guard felt his head spinning in circles after being shouted loudly through the phone. He tried to not be agitated from that death threat but his large physique involuntarily shrank in size by it. As he slowly made his way to the door, his big eyes momentarily stopped at one of the tables and his guts sensed weird vibe coming from that table. Thus he changed his direction, heading towards that vibe.

When he reached it, he checked on the apparatus set up on the table but didn't found anything strange. The arrangement remained unchanged like usual. But his sharp ears caught the faint sound of air flowing coming from underneath of the table as if the sound of someone's breathing. Quickly he lowered his body but to his disappointment, the space under the table was empty unlike his suspicion. Probably his ears were just playing a joke as to mocking himself for not being competent and let the intruder escaped when a great head like him was on duty. Seeing that nothing was there, he then walked away from the table and finally exited the room.

Unknown to him, his instinct was indeed correct. That table just now was the place Noah hid himself however Noah was luckier than the head guard. A few mini seconds before they all came in, an unprecedented fall saved Noah this time from being discovered.

While he was hiding under the table, unconsciously he pushed a hidden lever attached on underneath the table which caused him to fall into a newly-opened hole. It was like a secret button that move a couple of the floor tiles to fit one person's body size. The tiles would then returned back to their places less than a mini-second. The movement was incredibly fast.

As Noah was unguarded of this sudden shift, he ended up falling into that hole as he was pulled by the gravity. His fall was about 10 feet to the ground. His back ached in pain when he hit the cold metal floor. The hole was actually the door of the sub-cellar beneath the bas.e.m.e.nt level.

Hissing in pain, his reflex prompted him to change his body posture. Both of his palms and knees were parallel to the floor with his torso slanted 45 degrees like a runner posture at the starting block before running to subside his back pain. His head was dizzy due to the sudden change in air pressure during his fall. He took a while before he fully comprehended the situation.

Once his brain started to function well, he lurched forward to his right ankle and pulled out a small torchlight from the hidden pocket attached to his lower black pants. He usually brought along this torchlight whenever he was on a mission like today. A faint blue light rayed out from the torchlight when he pressed the back tip of the torchlight and with the help of the blue rays, He Shan adjusted his eyes to the darkness of the room.

His eyes visions were limited as the surrounding of the sub-cellar was a pitch black. No source of light at all other than the tiny blue ray from his torchlight. Due to the place's cold temperature and lack of oxygen inside the place, he felt suffocated and half of his body became numb due to the limited air.

But it didn't stop him from finding the way out. Noah pushed himself up from the floor and steadied his body with the support of the wall near him. The wall had the same texture as the rough wooden planks hence his grip wasn't slippery. Step by step he walked along the wall but halted after few steps when his knee hit an unknown object and it made a thump sound like something solid had fallen onto the floor.

Out of sudden, Noah sniffed a pungent smell like the one in the secret lab but more stronger to the point his mask couldn't block the smell from entering his system. In the next second, his body felt so light as if he was flying in the air. The earlier pain he got from the fall also ceased. However, his rational mind started to lose focus.

The pain was beyond describable and he couldn't withstand it. It made him want to bang his head on the wall so much to remove the pain. He ended up falling onto the floor and curled up into a ball. His knees were so close to his c.h.e.s.t and his shoulders heaved as he cried in pain. His body started to go out of control as he began to repeatedly roll in agony on the floor.

As terrible as he was being tortured in the past, he thought that he had experienced all kind of mental and emotional misery in this world and he managed to endure them but at this moment and for the first time, he pleaded for mercy as he kept on rolling. This was a whole new level of torture.

"Please... stop... stop..."

"AAAAARRRRGGGHHHHHH!!!"

"Please... stop... stop..."

"AAAAARRRRGGGHHHHHH!!!"

The uncontrollable pain diminished his energy level to negative figures. He became weaker but the aches increased along with his continuous pleading.

"AAAAARRRRGGGHHHHHH!!!"

"Please... stop... stop..."

"AAAAARRRRGGGHHHHHH!!!"

The suffering exceeded his mind and body's capability. Like his soul being slowly removed from his body, every seconds felt like hell and after an eternity, only then his consciousness faded away, saving him from the hell.
