Second Chance: Overlord

Xion and Karen rushed through almost fifty savage Beasts. None of them being a Divine Beast. But there were one or two Demon Beasts around. Which gave Xion the chance to acquire Demon Beast cores.

Another thing that excited Xion was that he leveled up a bunch of times. His cultivation base rose exponentially. It seems that leveling up this way was much better than the training he had been going through.

Xion has his reasons to stick around though.

*Swishhh*

*Bam*

The swift sound of the [Lightning Sword] slashing down and the loud noise of a giant body of yet another [King Gorilla] falling to the ground could be heard all around.

"Young Master, it's getting dark already, we should be heading back…" Karen said politely as she found herself admiring Xion even more now.

"Okay." Xion immidiately agreed and began walking back to the Sect.

*Crackle, Crackle*

*Zzzzzzz*

*Booooooom*

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaah…."

A loud thundering explosion came from somewhere nearby. Followed by a painful scream that sounded like a woman. Xion wasn't at all startled by the sound as he swiftly sped like a bullet to the spot the thunder crashed in, barely containing his excitment.

"Finally a challenge!!" He said to himself as he practically flew there. But, he looked back and noticed that Karen wasn't behind him.

Karen was paralyzed by the immense pressure that came from that area. Whatever was emitting such an aura was beyond dangerous…

"Co-could it… be? The Divine Beast..?" Karen tried walking but the heaviness didn't allow her to.

Suddenly in the blink of an eye she was raised from the ground and carried at bullet like speed. She also noticed that she had a barrier around her that protected her from the side effects of running at such speed when the body isn't refined to support it.

Trees were blurred and it felt arousing. Karen's stomach could feel butterflies. This Young Master is a true peerless genius.

Finally they reached the spot. The ground was charred in a straight line that came from the cave. At the end of the attack was a charred and bloodied Lilith.

"Is this why you ran off without saying thanks? To throw away the second chance I gave you…" Xion said with a darkened face. He wasn't angry, just frustrated at the fact that he had to save the damned girl again, it was annoying.

"….", Lilith seemed confused as she took many deep breaths painfully thanks to her injuries.

"If I save you now… will you throw your life away like this again...?" Xion sighed as he asked honestly and with a solemn face. A face of pity because the girl in front of him took her life for granted.

Lilith was shocked. This was the boy her ex boyfriend thrashed the other day. So earlier, he was just trying to pay his debt for her taking pity on him? Why does he seem to pity her now instead?

She is royalty, royalty that carries the [Frost Demon Bloodline] in her veins which was lost centuries ago. Everyone who saw her would praise her and compliment her just because she was alive.

But, the man in front of her showed no emotion of the sort. He just took pity on her for being weak? How could she let a commoner who is surely much weaker than herself take pity on her? She will kill him when she has the chance.

'I have no choice, I'll have to accept this commoner's help, the [Thundering Moon Lion] is too powerful. This boy won't be able to defeat him, I'll just use this chance to escape. I won't apologize, commoners are meant to be used by royalty as pawns, be my little decoy….' Lilith thought with a cruel smile on her face. She was ready to stab this commoner in the back without a second of hesitation.

Xion had a feeling that he was being used. So obviously he was also looking for something to gain as he had zero intentions of saving the girl again. Xion would never save someone who takes life for granted, there was no meaning in doing so.

First off, there were experience points to gain from this and the second reason being what the [Thundering Moon Lion] had stabbed deep between its ribs.

The [Moonblade Katana] if Xion were to get his hands on it, it would be of use to him as he grew. By the description it looks like it's supposed to be his anyway.

If the system showed him the details and even shadowed the [Moonblade Katana] in a blue aura so that Xion could easily identify it, it means that destiny itself is saying that it belongs to him.

'The girl is of no consequence, I would gain nothing from saving her again just so that she throws away her meaningless life once again given the chance. But, that [Thundering Moon Lion] is a Divine Beast that would reward me how I truly deserve…' Xion thought as he analyzed the [Thundering Moon Lion] smiling contently.

It's white and black fur was standing from the static it's thunder nature releases. It's power is almost as good as Xion and it was just a huge puppy that has decent Potential.

Xion knew what he had to do as he jumped down and landed as if he had floated down and landing softly in between the [Thundering Moon Lion] and Lilith.

It seemed to Lilith that Xion intended to protect her. She held the hilt of her sword as she waited for a chance to stab Xion and kick him to the [Thundering Moon Lion] and use the chance to escape from certain death.

"It seems we get to fight to the death [Thundering Moon Lion], at least try and make it a challenge for me…" Xion said as he smiled confidently his pose exhuming an aura of superiority.

Lilith's cruel smile vanished and changed into a concerned frown after seeing the Star-like purple aura Xion released as the pressure was too incredible to fathom.

'How can someone so young have so much pure Qi…?' Lilith thought to herself as she couldn't understand how a bloody commoner could have such excellent Potential when she herself being royalty had nothing even close to such progress in her cultivation.

*Rooooar*

The [Thundering Moon Lion] began speeding towards Xion. It was quick on its feet as it used it's thunder nature to boost it's already incredible velocity.

But, in Xion's new ocular vision it was nothing as he could see everything around him without a problem. In other words he had no blindspots.

Since he was trying to grab the [Moonblade Katana] Xion didn't use a Sword. Instead he aimed to draw the [Moonblade Katana] from the [Thundering Moon Lion's] body using his [Demonic Aura] in which his control was almost perfect.

As the [Thundering Moon Lion] jumped at Xion showing its claws, Xion evades it without any effort it was like it came natural to such slow attacks.

Now, Xion was floating on the [Thundering Moon Lion's] side as his eyes landed on the [Moonblade Katana] and used his powerful [Demonic Aura] to form a hand and quickly retrieve the [Moonlight Katana].

*Ding*

Xion has no chance to celebrate the system's notification.

The [Thundering Moon Lion] roared in pain as the [Moonlight Katana] that had penetrated it's flesh and bones was ripped off harshly. It turned around and hit Xion with it's paw while he was still floating midair.

*Booom*

Xion crashed harshly into the hill on the side causing it to have a big hole in the middle from the hard impact...

*Cough, cough*

Xion coughed up blood and when Karen saw this she quickly jumped in front of Xion to shield him from the upcoming attack.

*Bieeeeeeeeeeeem*

The [Thundering Moon Lion] began charging some kind of beam. Xion could feel heavy Qi and it just kept condensing. It wasn't a thunder nature attack, but some kind of attack that assimilated itself with space energy… a moon nature attack?
