Second Chance: Overlord

Karen jumped in between the injured Xion and the [Thundering Moon Lion's] sudden and dangerous looking attack. She couldn't allow such a powerful technique to hit her Young Master. She would be regretting allowing her fear to make her negligent and let harm reach her Young Master.

Xion had thoughts of getting close and not allowing the [Thundering Moon Lion] to release the beam. But, it had prepared a thunder nature barrier that couldn't be broken through easily. With Xion's current power it would take a while and he would then be too tired to fight against it.

Xion could tell thanks to his new ocular sight. He could see weaknesses and had a better understanding of things he saw and analyzed. He should come up with a name for his new ability to discern.

"Young Master, we should get out of here before that Divine Beast releases that oppressing beam…!!" Karen said hysterically worried, but it was too late.

The skies grew dark, a gust of wind picked up rapidly around them as the [Thundering Moon Lion] brought particles of [Space Qi] into the front of it's mouth and released it's attack at full power zero hesitation.

"YOUNG MAS.." before she could even react Xion had shielded her instead using his [Demonic Barrier] as a shield in between the [Moon Beam] and them.

*Shiiiiriiiiiiriiiiiriiing*

The [Moon Beam] seemed to be penetrating into the [Demonic Barrier] slowly, like it was spreading. Like bacteria or water in between tiles.

*Ziiiiiing*

The [Moonblade Katana] began vibrating as the [Moon Beam's] Qi grew closer. It shined in a purple Star-like color just like his [Demonic Aura].

*DING*

[Host, use [Moonblade Katana] to absorb the [Moon Beam's] Space Qi Energy…]

Xion didn't wait and pointed the [Moonblade Katana] at the [Moon Beam] and the [Space Qi] began to swirl and be absorbed by the [Moonblade Katana].

The [Moonblade Katana] grew stronger, sturdier and glowed with a certain amount of Qi and it was now extremely heavy. Even for Xion quise strength was almost unparralelled in the [Wave of Life] Sect.

Then, the [Moonblade Katana] began vibrating once again this time Xion felt that it wanted to release the [Space Qi Energy] it had absorbed. It screamed with a high-pitch screech screaming to be swing, Xion couldn't stand it anymore.…

*Zoooon*

As Xion slashed vertically to release the energy contained inside the [Moonblade Katana] a purple Star-like aura bursted out. It was big as hell as it went straight through whatever was left of the [Moon Beam] and slashed the [Thundering Moon Lion's] right leg completely off with no effort.

*Roaaaar*

The [Thundering Moon Lion] fell to the ground dramatically as the energy released from the [Moonblade Katana] dispersed into Star-like glitter after going through half the forest destroying whatever stood on it's path.

Karen who was being hugged by the peerless genius, was completely dumbfounded. She had now officially fallen deep in love with this Young Master. Such talent and potential that she couldn't even begin to fathom how high he would go.

To be able to even defeat a Divine Beast…

"Karen…" Xion who was deeply touched by the previous scene of his secretary protecting him, while facing what was certain death right before them, tightly held the slim body of the redhead in one of his arms as the sword pointed towards the still alive and squirming [Thunder Moon Lion].

He abruptly released her as she also shifted around nervously after that moment. They had lost perspective and allowed themselves to fall into the stories behind their eyes.

Xion slowly walked over to the [Thundering Moon Lion] and remembered that there was a certain ritual recorded in one of the books he read about the career of a [Beast Tamer].

He bit his thumb to draw out some blood, pressed it on the forehead of the Divine Beast [Thundering Moon Lion] and released his [Demonic Aura] which is the same as his fingerprint to tame the [Thundering Moon Lion].

The [Thundering Moon Lion] had already succ.u.mbed to the human before it. Seeing how this human was granting it mercy by making it his subordinate, the [Thundering Moon Lion] couldn't be more grateful.

Seeing the confident smile of the human who defeated him and then granted mercy, the [Thundering Moon Lion] also shared it's Qi with the human, strengthening the bond.

In this world following the strong was a lifeline. Even for Divine Beasts like itself. If he were to become this man's companion his life will surely reach more heights than he previously imagined.

Becoming a Celestial Beast was just a short stop for him with this human. He could reach Realms and Potentials that have yet to be discovered, he had that feeling.

This human showed certain wisdom in his eyes, [Thundering Moon Lion] could tell for real that the human would bring incredible change to the world.

'Human, do not fail me…' the [Thundering Moon Lion] telepathically told Xion as it passed out after the ritual.

After hearing the words that came into his head, Xion understood that he had gone ahead of the [Beast Tamer] knowledge in Rain. To be able to hear ones pet telepathically was something that wasn't written in the book that Xion studied.

"What was that?!" Kate asked after she saw how Xion and the Divine Beast had been enveloped with that Celestial Aura.

Xion was lost in thought about what just transpired and even though he heard Kate he had no words to think of. It was something strange and special even for him.

"Young Master…" Kate said as she worried about Xion's spaced out face.

Xion raised his head and looked at the sky. He began to wonder how exactly could he had been blessed by something like the system. He never thought that he'd be able to be so many steps ahead, growing at such length and speed could only mean one thing…

"Something big is about to befall Rain…" he muttered as his eyes shined with realization.

"What did you just say?" Kate's question was a worried one.

This time Xion heard and replied with a small grin on his face.

"Something exciting might happen in this place I've been reborn in, things will be fun soon…" Xion prophetically said. Kate looked into Xion's eyes and believed him instantly as she nodded in worried approval….

Suddenly hard breaths could be heard and the sound of someone rising from the ground. Xion looked in the direction of the noise and noticed Lilith trying to get up, but it was hard for her with her injuries.

"You, that was incredible, thank you for saving me." Lilith said as she stood up trying to front she felt no pain.

Xion had seen this kind of person before when he fought for the Mafia. Hypocritical and cunning, Xion could tell that this woman in front of him wasn't being truthful in the least.

"…" Silence was the answer she got and a small look of disdain. But Xion being apathetic made Lilith feel like he didn't give a shit.

'This commoner and simpleton dares to not appreciate praise coming from royalty? Ugh I hate him. Just because his a bit strong gives him the right to act arrogantly before me?' Lilith thought to herself as she smiled like she truly appreciated being saved.

But, in reality she just wanted to stab him and use her Martial Technique [Life Absorb] which allows her to absorb the life essence of another gaining all their knowledge and power.

Before she could even react, Xion and Kate had started walking away and left her behind. They didn't care for this lady, even Kate could mildly see through her.

Kate also knew that if Xion acted in such away to someone. It meant that he did not approve of that person. Because she already saw him act with someone whom he has acknowledged.

Lilith on the other-hand, was oblivious that she had been found out. After she saw that the two were gone and so was the [Thundering Moon Lion] she felt fear.

She had now noticed that they took the [Moonblade Katana] and wielded it. Meaning that it now belongs to that brat, she doesn't even know his name.

But, she remembers his parents perfectly. She will tell her aunt so that they can kill that bunch of commoners and bring back the [Moonblade Katana] to Uncle.

Or she might lose her head if she fails in such a way…

"What now, Young Master?" Kate asked as something bumped with her left leg.

Xion looked back and saw that the [Thundering Moon Lion] had shrunk in size. It was a sight to behold. Half white and half black, even it's eyes were different colors, one of them was blue while the other was the same as Xion's.

It seems that the [Thundering Moon Lion] attained some of Xion's power and genetics. An interesting thing that he had never heard of in Rain. It was beautiful.

'Master, were you going to leave me behind?' the [Thundering Moon Lion] asked as he looked directly at Xion with an angered expression.

'Dont worry, my little friend, I would never do such a thing…' Xion could feel the [Thundering Moon Lion] when he began to walk behind him. Xion couldn't understand how but he could feel what the [Thundering Moon Lion] could feel.

The [Thundering Moon Lion] smiled slightly, it seems like it also had an apathetic expression in a way.

"Aw. Is this the Divine Beast…?" Kate asked cutely and surprised at the same time. She never imagined that it would shrink…

She quickly grabbed it in her embrace and carried it in her arms. It was too cute to deny, this action caused the [Thundering Moon Lion] to blush. He had never been carried in such a manor by a human, it was embarrassing.
