Soul Land: The Savage Star

Chapter 23 - 23: Summit (1/2)

These three weeks went by peacefully.

In these three weeks, Feng and Beibei won every single one of their battles. So, they both sat at an impressive 21 matches, 21 victories, 0 losses for individual battles and 20 matches, 20 victories, 0 losses for team battles. This means they already advanced to silver rank on their 37th victory, the eighteenth day since they came here. Now, they wanted to try and fight freely for the rest of the month as the fights benefited them greatly. They both have 1400 points and winning the next battle would earn them another 100 points.

( I changed the advancement system as it was too complicated.

Now it's the same amount of points awarded for each victory according to the rank but to earn 10 points at the iron rank, for example, you need a winning streak of 10 victories, which is reinitialized after each advancement.

So, they advanced to copper rank on the tenth day and silver rank on the eighteenth.)

They were now waiting for their day's team battle after wrecking their earlier opponents.

Each of these battles benefited them enormously. Be it individual battles that honed their experience in fighting against different opponents or the team battles that taught them teamwork and combinations.

Other than that, Feng is on the brink of totally shrinking his passive aura. As Tang San predicted, it really helped heal other people as whenever he could stabilize it around his hand and touched a wound, the wound would slowly close, though, he couldn't maintain this effect for long periods of time.

He mostly used it on the Shrek's seven devils as they call themselves or Tang San's extra band as Beibei calls them. In fact, the effect on Tang San and Xiao Wu was more prominent than on others for some reason, though he had few occasions to use it on them as Tang San was a monster that controlled fights like a puppeteer. He was scary.

Then, the effect on Grandmaster is like on the others but, his spirit power that was locked at 29 unexpectedly showed signs of breaking through. It was very unexpected for Beibei and more importantly Feng as he only thought he could heal Grandmaster's illness, not allowing him to continue his spirit master career.

This only came as a surprise for the twins though as Tang San expected this. Nevertheless, this didn't diminish the gratitude he felt as he swore there and then that they were considered his brothers from the moment the signs first showed. Now, all Feng had to do was stabilize and maintain it longer so that Grandmaster could truly breakthrough and heal.

With their goals already met, the twins were just excited about their next battle as it was special. Tang San informed them earlier that he would be their next opponent.

They didn't know how or why he knew it but it didn't matter. Up until now, they had more and more ease with their team battles and their individual ones weren't even worth mentioning.

So, after the judge called for them, they went into the arena and waited for Tang San and Xiao Wu, who got in not long after.

After a few seconds of the crowd cheering for the two invincible teams, in other words, the teams that didn't lose a single battle, the judge announced the beginning of the battle. The odds were perfectly even as even though the flying snow twins only had one spirit elder, the San Wu combo had a weaker spirit elder: Xiao Wu, who is the only of out the four to have lost a battle.

Both teams stood unmoving for a while before Xiao Wu leaped towards them. She was fast, as expected of a rabbit. As she sped towards them, the twins remarked a Tang San's grass tied around her waist, making them grimace as they knew from his past battles that he was the embodiment of control type spirit master.

So, while sticking together, they jumped to the right to avoid her and went for Tang San as he was clearly the most dangerous in their opinions. Said dangerous person just yanked Xiao Wu back to him as the twins approached him. Then, as Beibei used an ice claw to cleave at Tang San, Feng punched Xiao Wu to quickly get rid of her.

But she didn't dodge, making Feng suspicious as he was pretty sure no one ignored his monstrous strength, of which he only showed half up until now.

So, instead of being blown away like a proper punching bag, she took the blow but didn't even slide back as a pink barrier surrounded her. That was new, and he didn't like it as his strength was nullified and Xiao Wu then grabbed his arm to make him stay in place. At the exact same time as it happened, Tang San, who dodged Beibei's attack and pulled him toward Feng surrounded the twins with his grass and restrained their movements by forming his hands in the form of a dragon claw and Xiao Wu kicked them both in the stomach toward the air. Once there, she mysteriously appeared behind them and with her knees on both of their backs, fell to the ground.

Of course, the twins wouldn't let themselves be. Feng tried to backhand slap her while Beibei used his second ring's ability to create an ice road under them, in the form of a skate ramp, on which they slid harmlessly as Xiao dodged Feng's slap. Quickly getting back up, the twins retreated a few meters to gather their bearings but as they did, they found that grass grew directly on them and constrained them.

Then, as they tried to break free, more grass in the form of a spider's cobweb flew towards them and tied them further. Xiao Wu then kicked them, making Beibei slide to the borders of the arena, where he shredded his restraints while Feng just took a step back and torn apart his.

All of this happened in less than ten seconds... Ten seconds in which the twins were just beaten around. Indeed, Tang San is scary while Xiao Wu is more tricky than expected, even more so with Tang San's assistance.

The first round of their fight ended with the twins' utter defeat and the crowd loudly cheering the name San Wu Combo.

With grim faces, the twins both jumped in the air toward each other and when they were about to collide, Feng grabbed Beibei's legs and spun around before launching him toward Xiao Wu, with his ice claw outstretched.

Like a missile, he appeared just in front of her thanks to Feng's full-powered throw. But Tang San yanked her back at the last minute. Though, this time, the twins expected this as Beibei used his second ring's ability to create a road directly toward Tang San from Feng's lending spot.

The latter slid on it and jumped at the last moment, dodging a grass cobweb and lending behind Tang San, then he punched him, though the blow was evaded thanks to weird spider legs appearing on Tang San's back, slightly redirecting Feng's punch with half of them while the other half kicked to the ground to the opposite direction.

Tang San and Xiao Wu regrouped while Feng was stunned. He wasn't stunned by the appearance of the spider legs, he was stunned by their sharpness as they managed to leave a scratch on him.

The poison though didn't have the chance to spread through his body as it was immediately ejected out of his body.

Beibei then got to his side as they faced Tang San and Xiao Wu.

Feng then said gravely to Tang San " I really can't afford to take you lightly, so be careful. From now on, I will go all out! "

With that said, Feng's rings appeared behind him and the second one shone. He used his self-enhancing aura and leaped towards Tang San.
